Strong performances by all of the Peninsula Co-op Women were not enought to hold off the fast paced attack of the Vancouver Thunderbirds side. The T-Birds came out strong and scored two goals early to put Co-op behind. Not to be out played the Co-op ladies put together some fantastic passing plays that saw Mariel Solsberg at the top of the box feed Kristen Livingstone with a smooth pass through which Kristen buried in the top left hand corner. Shortly after The T-birds Scored again to make it 3-1. This seem to spark the Co-op ladies as a Amy Lawrence went up to challenge for a ball with the Vancouver goalie which forced her to drop the ball which was then neatly finished by Katie Kraeutner. A short while later Co-op were able to tie the game, when Sam Lee placed a perfect cross into the box over all the T-Birds defenders and on to the head of the unmarked Katie Kraeutner for her to tap in her second of the game. Unfortunately for the Co-op team, the T-Birds managed to score a late one off a great run and cross from the end line to a waiting T-Bird strike for the finish. After the teams slow start to the game goalie Shelby Walker was able to hold the fort which allowed the Co-op team the opportunity to mount the comeback. This was the final game for the Peninsula Co-op Reserve team for the summer.
W-League head coach Dave Dew is now in the process of forming the team to play in the upcoming season of the Metro Women's Soccer League (Vancouver).
